Week 4: Knowing Scriptures

Today’s Easy Task:

Use the Bible as the ultimate resource for correction and direction

How to rock this task:

  • Write your questions about health and wealth
  • Search the Bible for answers to those questions

Today's Devotional:

Today we are going to emphasize using the Bible as the ultimate resource for correction and direction concerning our health and wealth. Once Jesus saves us and we receive the power of His Holy Spirit. We’ll begin to desire God’s presence and Study God’s word. God Word tells us about God and His desires. The Bible is our guide. Make it a habit to study and pray God’s word daily for further understanding.

Since the definition of what’s considered good varies from one source and person to another, it’s important to know what is really true and what isn’t. The Bible, God’s word is the perfect source of the truth. God’s word is always true (Proverbs 30:5-6). Let’s use the Bible as the ultimate resource for correction and direction (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The Bible, especially the 1st five books, is full of instruction to help us overcome the stumbling blocks of life (Psalms 119:165).

Let’s try God’s plan for ourselves. God’s health and wealth plan is described in the scriptures. For example, we shouldn’t eat too much (Proverbs 23:20-21) and spend too much (Proverbs 21:17). Eating more than what the body needs nutritionally leads to an overwork digestive system, which causes improper digestions and elimination, gases and toxins in the colon forms and absorbed through the wall and poisons the blood. This is called intoxication. The extra fat causes cancer, diabetes and stroke. I recommend that we limit 1/3rd of income for expenses, 1/3rd of income for saving/investing (if we have debt, let’s use our savings/investing portion of income to pay off debt) and 1/3rd of income for giving.

Moreover, to get the most nutrients out of our food, we should chew our food well or include smoothies, blended soups, and juices in our meal plan until we get into the habit of chewing well. Also, to get the most return from our money, we need to get out of debt. So our money can be used towards savings and investing, instead of just paying off debt.

Today’s Prayer:

God, Jehovah Shammah – You are always there for us. Your Holy Spirit dwells among your people. You are in our lives not abandon us, but to keep us and restore. Thank you for filling us with the fruit of the Spirit. We need Your Spirit to increase love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in us. So we can better live by the Spirit and not by the flesh. In Jesus name, Amen.
