Reflexology

de-stressing faith and fit 90 challenge Jan 23, 2023

Today’s Task Reading:

We are in week 12, and this week we are focusing on ways we can de-stress. On Day 78, we discussed how homeopathy remedies could help us de-stress. Today we will discuss how reflexology can help us de-stress.

Reflexology is an excellent way to de-stress because it improves circulation, cleanses the body of toxins, tunes-up the body, revitalizes energy and is considered preventive health care. Reflexology encourages the massaging of appropriate points in the feet that mirror organs of the body to assist the body with self-healing and illness prevention. Usually, when an area on foot is tender, it means that a particular area needs extra attention for restoration. According to ChineseFootReflexology.com, there are certain things we can do to our feet to relieve stress, worry and anxiety.

First, we can massage our big toe in an up, down, side to side motion for 30 seconds on each toe to improve headaches, insomnia, and irritability. The organ that mirrors the big toe is the brain.

Second, we can massage the point located inside of big toe with our thumbs in an up and down motion for 30 seconds to improve the blood flow to our head, which helps clear our minds, especially when we are overthinking.

The organ that mirrors the inside of our toe is the temporal area.

Third, we can massage the top right quadrant of the left foot only in an up and down motion for 30 seconds to improve our emotions and digestion. The organ that mirrors the top right quadrant of the left foot is the spleen.

Fourth, we can feel the bones between our big and second toes, follow them down until we feel where they intersect into a “v” and then hold our thumbs down

for 60 seconds per foot to alleviate anger, frustration and irritability. The organ that mirrors the webbing area between the big and second toe is the liver.

The four reflexology points mentioned above should make us calmer and relaxer, but we should consider following the example of Jesus Christ by washing the feet of our brothers and sisters in Christ (John 13:14-15). Washing feet is like washing all the organs of the body since they are connected to the foot. It is also an act of humility, service, and love (Genesis 18:4). Moreover, anointing feet with oil is an action of faith and provides us peace (Luke 7:37-38, 44-48, 50). So today, let us wash and massage feet for instant stress relief.

Today’s Prayer:

God, You reign forever and ever in the heavens and on earth. We are so thankful for You. You deserve all the glory, honor, and praise. Let Your kingdom come and will be done in our lives. Help us to relieve our stress with reflexology. We want to use all the tools that You have provided for us that will help us live calmer. Give us knowledge, wisdom and understanding we need to de-stress effectively when needed. Help us to take the necessary steps to de-stress. We ask You to forgive us for all our debts, trespasses, and sins as we forgive our debtors and those who have trespassed and sinned against us. Lead us not into temptation. Help us to be equipped with the full armor of God as You deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, Power and Glory. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.

Today’s Scriptures: John 13:14-15, Genesis 18:4, Luke 7:37-38, Luke 7:44-50

John 13:14-15 New King James Version (NKJV)
14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example that you should do as I have done to you.

Genesis 18:4 New King James Version (NKJV)
4 Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.

Luke 7:37-38 New King James Version (NKJV)
37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, 38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.

Luke 7:44-50 New King James Version (NKJV)
44 Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. 45 You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. 46 You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. 47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”

48 Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

49 And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”

50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
