Walk

Today’s Task Reading:

Walking is an exercise that everyone can do. We can walk inside or outside. We can walk with a group or by ourselves. Walking is a low impact, aerobic exercise that is easy to follow and effective in results. The average person loses 13 pounds when they walk an additional 15 minutes in their first year of walking.

Walking is a total body workout that is safe and natural. All we need to do is place one foot in front of the other. As a Walk15 instructor, I am certified to teach indoor walking. In the warm- up segment of my Praisemoves class, we do indoor walking. When teaching the class, I like for us to put on the Full Armor of God, which helps us stand against our enemies’ traps (Ephesians 6:11-13). We put on the belt of truth (Ephesians 6:14), which reminds us that Jesus is the way, truth, and life, by lifting our knees. We put on the breastplate of righteousness (Ephesians 6:14), which keeps us in fellowship with Holy God, by stepping from side to side with chest press. We put on shoes of the Gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:15), which removes fear even in chaotic situations, by placing our heels down in front of us. We put on the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16), which quench the attacks from our enemies, by stepping back with twist. We put on the helmet of salvation (Ephesians 6:17), which protects our mind, by widening our legs and kicking back with our arms up and touching the top of heads. Lastly, we put on the sword of the spirit

(Ephesians 6:17), which is the word of God by kicking our legs front with our arms swinging from side to side as we kick out front of us.

Today, let us walk at least 15 minutes every day. I want to encourage you to walk with the full armor of God as well, for we know that in life, we need to walk with God. God helps us to move forward effectively. We need to walk in obedience so we can live long and prosperous (Deuteronomy 5:33).

Today’s Prayer:

God, You reign forever and ever in the heavens and on earth. We are so thankful for You. You deserve all the glory, honor and praise. Let Your kingdom come and will be done in our lives. When we get stressed, Lord help us relieve our stress with the habit of walking. We want to use all the tools that You have provided for us to de-stress. Thank you for giving us the tools to de-stress at home, outside, or in the gym. Give us knowledge, wisdom and understanding we need to de-stress effectively when needed. Help us to take the necessary steps to de-stress. We ask You to forgive us for all our debts, trespasses, and sins as we forgive our debtors and those who have trespassed and sinned against us. Lead us not into temptation. Help us to be equipped with the full armor of God as You deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, Power and Glory. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [b]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
