Week 2: Using the Bible for Guidance

Today’s Easy Task:  Try Brain Exercises that Improves Memory

How to rock this task:

  • Try a brain exercise that improves memory

Today's Devotional:

So far this week, you have developed self-control, your health and wealth routine, set aside a day for rest and fasting, as well as built habits to accomplish health and wealth streaks. Today you will focus on trying brain exercises that help improve your memory.

Your #1 focus should be building up your inner self. If you build your inner self first spirit & soul, you will automatically produce habits that will build up your body (1 Timothy 4:6-8). Exercising your inner self requires you to use your senses sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch. The more you use your senses, the more intelligent and discerning you will be (Hebrews 5:14).

Technology makes life easy. You can quickly look up information instead of memorizing it. Yet, there are many benefits to memorization.

  • It trains the brain to remember things and retain information

  • It keeps the brain healthy

  • It makes the brain easily recall more information

  • It makes the brain more quick and agile

  • It allows the brain to focus on more advanced concepts and information, instead of foundational concepts and information

  • It increases your capacity to focus

  • It teaches you to hold information in your mind which improves your ability to learn and

    be creative

  •  It delays cognitive decline as you get older.

Technology should not stop you from exercising your minds and learning to remember things. Do activities that require you to use your mind because when you try to remember, your mind starts working and searching for information, which is an excellent exercise for the mind. Memorization is excellent for improving your working memory. Berries are great for improving long-term memory. Exercising is great for improving cognitive ability and memory recalling. Also, sleep is such a big key to having a good memory.

When your memory isn’t the best, ask the Holy Spirit help me remember everything You have taught me. The Holy Spirit is your helper and counselor (John 14:26). Trust and rely on Him.

Today’s Prayer:

God, Elohim- You are energetic and my creator. You made me in Your image, and with Your words, You put the world together. I honor You. I thank you for developing my memory. Thank you for teaching me how I can train my brain to build my short- term and long-term memory. Thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit to show me the best ways to develop my memory so I can have abundant life. Forgive me when I fail to use the creative power You installed in me. Forgive me for any doubts. I want to trust You with every aspect of my life completely. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Today's Scriptures:

1 Timothy 4:6-8, Hebrews 5:14, John 14:26
