The Prayers of Faith is Medicine

Today’s Task Reading:
Prayer is the key to getting access to God, our doctor. God delights when we seek Him in Prayer (Proverbs 15:8). God listens to the prayers of the righteous. The key is not to worry, but to make our request known to God by prayer and continual petitions with thanksgiving so God can keep our hearts and our minds (Philippians 4:6-7). Let us replace worrying with worship and thanksgiving (Colossians 4:2). Since God hears us when we pray and provides us what we ask according to His will (1 John 5:14-15).
It’s incredible how our thinking affects our health. Proverbs 17:22 mentions how a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit brings fatigue. There is another ailment that doesn’t seem to affect us, but it affects us like poison – it is a sin. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), but we can have eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
In Day 87, we discussed how Jesus gives us Hope, and Hope is like medicine for us (Psalm 16:9). Hope makes our heart glad and gives us rest. When we pray, listen to God, and obey God, God promised us healing. As mentioned in Day 88, anointing oils is medicine (Luke 10:34) and symbolizes the spirit of God (1 Samuel 16:1-13).
So let us build our faith by having a plan of action and sticking to it. So when we go through unpleasant cleansing to stop bad eating habits and unhealthy spending addiction, we must stay persistent and thankful. Today let us pray God to give us the grace to complete our plan of action to better health and wealth.
Today as we pray, let us use our words to heal because Proverbs 18:21 says life is in the power of our words. Uplifting words can make us cheerful and bring us healing. A hearty laugh relaxes us, strengthens our immune system, gives us a boost of energy, and releases endorphins.
Today’s Prayer:
God, You reign forever and ever in the heavens and on earth. We are so thankful for You. You deserve all the glory, honor, and praise. Let Your kingdom come and will be done in our lives. When we need medicine for our body, soul, and spirit, we can use prayer as our medicine. Since we know that our words can heal, help us to use our words wisely to build us up, bring us to cheer, and energize our lives. Help us to build our faith and stick to our plan of action for health and wealth. Thank you for giving us the grace to complete the tasks we need to complete in the present and future. Give us knowledge, wisdom, and understanding we need to heal effectively as needed. We ask You to forgive us for all our debts, trespasses, and sins as we forgive our debtors and those who have trespassed and sinned against us. Lead us not into temptation. Help us to be equipped with the full armor of God as You deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, Power, and Glory. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.

16 Now the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have [a]provided Myself a king among his sons.”2 And Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me.”
But the Lord said, “Take a heifer with you, and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’ 3 Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; you shall anoint for Me the one I name to you.”
4 So Samuel did what the Lord said, and went to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, “Do you come peaceably?”
5 And he said, “Peaceably; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Sanctify[b] yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons, and invited them to the sacrifice.
6 So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him!”
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have [c]refused him. For[d] the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
